Power Steering Reservoir
I just purchased a 98 F150, 4x4, 5 speed w/ 85K miles - So far the truck has been great - working my way through changing the fluids, cleaned the MAF sensor, repaired the ABS Sensor and put in 4 new shocks. I noticed that the Power Steering Fluid in the reservoir appears to have air in it - it looks just like a pot of boiling water - I had the fluid flushed and new fluid put in and no change - I have driven the truck enough to bleed any air out of the system from the fluid change - Any thoughts???? You can hear the steering pump when you turn the vehicle, especially at slow speeds, but the noise isn't harsh, it just sounds like the pump is working to steer the wheels. Any thoughts or is this a normal characteristic of the power steering system? Thanks in advance for your input.
