a keyless entry system. Need some input here. What's good keyless entry system I can install myself on my 1999 SD F250? Also was thinking of maybe going with a alarm system with keyless entry. Can someone please help me out here? Thanks
I got a code alarm system with remote start from circuit city for 100 bucks and it was pretty easy to install, and it is also expandable to add more secutiry options and a 2 way remote that will tell you when the truck is started and when the alarm is going off. most every wire is under the dash except you have to run 1 wire through the firewall to one of the injectors to get a tach signal for the remote start. I have a printouts of all the wire locations and wire colors for my 99 superduty, if you want them send me an e-mail and ill scan them and send them to you.
Keyless entry, alarm and remote start products are all universal. You prepare the harness for your specific vehicle and then make the connections to the necessary circuits. The installation is really no more difficult than a radio, just that the wires are not all in the same place like right behind the old radio.... In a 250, everything you need to tap into is right in the drivers kick panel and the main ignition harness. If you are just doing keyless entry, you will have to hook up 10 wires or less. Piece of cake.
