Fuel relay

I have an '87 f250 w/302 v-8. It died on me less than a mile from home. Had it towed home. Less than an hour later, I found the fuel-relay on the wheel-well.I tapped on the relay a few times and the truck started right up.I bought a new relay switch, is there anything that I need to know about changing the switch? This is likely the problem right?

Thanks for any input.

If it's just the little cube looking relay, pull the old one and plug in the new one and go on your merry way. I keep an extra relay in the toolbox, just in case.

parts store gave the wrong one. got it right the second time. truck had dual tanks and i removed the rear tank. It won't run without both relays in place. went for a test drive and it was sputtering real bad going up a steep hill, think the gas gauge has quit working accurately. Thanks tex94.
