1997 B-4000 4.0 temp gauge erratic. Never goes past half way. Sometimes dives to below cool - even on a hill climb.
Heater works good.
Replaced T-Stat and sender with same results.
Who knows how to test the temp sweep gauge on the dash?
How do I get the gauge cluster out?
Does the PCM read off of the sweep gauge on the dash?
Pull the wire at the sender, it's the single wire sender, with the key on it should be full cold, ground the wire and it should be full hot. Might be the other way around, never can remember this.
In the tech info thread at the top of this forum I have a link on removing the cluster.
