Several years ago, my 93 non-turboed F 250 started having fuel leaks at around 105,000 mi, and with the help of this forum, I found it was the fuel injection return lines and was successful in replacing them. On my 99 F 250 PSD, the engine compartment looks nothing like the '93, and I cannot even see return lines. Did Ford change the fuel return system or should I look further for the same type of lines and should I go ahead and replace them, even though there is no hint of fuel leaks at 128,000 mi?
They Are Changed The Common One For Leaking Is The Pass Side Head At The Clamp That Holds It To The Head It Tends To Rub Through Between 110,000km And 180,000km
Chips,
If you drive rough roads you can figure on having those lines wear thru several times. I've had it happen twice so far. My mechanic reinforced those clamps and I hope it won't happen again. Unfortunately on my 99.5 the diagrams in the "shop" do not show those clamps and my mechanic robbed from another motor in the shop and got me going again. The first time it happened I lost 9 gallons of fuel scrambling for home. It was a 14 mile drive. Left a hell of a trail of fuel down thru the neighborhood.
Anyway, Good Luck!!!

I only sometimes traver short distances on rough roads, until just recently, my town is putting in a new sewer system, so a lot more frequently now. I will look for the possible problem area. Hmmm, 9 gallons of fuel at $2.43 per gallon!
well i have a problem...i have a leak somewhere around my fuel bowl or behind it...i used to get about 14mpg but now get about 8-9mpg...when it idles fuel drips from between the engine and the transmission...when i rev it up it drips faster...i have noticed fuel underneath the turbo...need help please....
look on pass side head there is a clamp located near the turbo holding the fuel line this clamp rubbs through line and line leaks at our dealership we remove clamp when line is replaced as 90% of units here are oilpatch trucks and run rough roads all the time with the clamp remove we do not have repeat failures
