Hi Guys: After a short trip to Galveston, I'm back flat on my back in the driveway - or was! Used an old 4x4 wooden A-frame I'd built for another project, pulled the motor, finally got the oil pan negotiated out, got the oil pump in, painted the pan "Old Ford Blue", new gaskets, painted the radiator and clutch lever assembly, dropped the steering box (2 hours of degreasing!), painted it, new rag joint, new TIE RODS, stabbed the motor back myself, reinstalled everything, got a sheet of 3/4" CDX for a temporary bed and wah-lah! After sitting behind my Dad's barn for 11 years, got me a truck for runs to Home Depot and the dump. Thanks for your guy's help! Later this summer, I'll start body work (very minor) to get ready for paint and some more detail. See ya...
Very cool! We will be looking for some pictures soon. So how is the steering now that you have replaced the tie rod ends and changed out the rag joint?
Ditto on RalieghsDad66s' reply.

Thanks guys... I wish I has taken some pics when I had the A-frame rigged up but I was too intent on the task at hand. The domino effect after the oil pump went was after the normal stuff involved in getting an old motor running. New battery, cables, overhauled the carb, starter, cleaned the distributor and reset it (it was only about 100 degrees off!) and new plug wires, the orginals of which none were going to the correct cylinders. All little crankin' and priming and Ol' Joe fired up, coughed and sputtered for a minute and then smoothed right out. I have yet to set the timing or anything but, heck... I've driven him across town a couple times with no missing, hesitation or backfires! I'll get some pictures out here soon. Later - Benjammin'
