Well 2 weeks ago I turned 33. I'm kind of at a crossroads with my old truck. I'm torn by wich route to take. Picture this. A pretty much bone stocker black walls stock caps and wheels just like it drove out of 1952. Its a 50 not new but nearly new. A bale of hay in the bed, a flathead under the hood, my youngens by my side, Hank Williams coming out of the speaker, me with a fedora on my head parked in front of Hagoods General Store. We go in for a Coke and a hoe handle. Another vision also appears. Chrome steel rims aka American Graffiti. A rumbling 312 under the hood 3x2 Strombergs or Ford 94s. This running piece of plunder just drove out of 1961. Its an old truck but its bad and I have the satisfaction of knowing I can take any techno rice machine on the road. Do I do it , No. Me and my sweetie tool into the Sonic with Del Shannons Runaway barely audible over the rumbling 312. Decisions, Decisions Flatty or Y. Mild or Mean. Maybe a little of both. Hank did have a song about a hot rod Ford. My youngens my sweetie 2-2s on a flathead with Smithys. AHHH 1957. Kisses Sweeter Than Wine vibrate though the cab.
I hope y'all enjoyed this little trip with me. What do ya think mild or mean or both.
pick one and try it, when you get bored, change it, the fun never ends.............I went from being 390 powered to a 223 six with plans on going with a 292 in the future, but with the gas situation the 292 may be on the engine stand for a time
Flatheads were the 1st Racing Engines & when Built right, Will still Beat all comers.
