I know this isnt truck related, but I'm stumped and im sure you guys can help. I have an 88 Thunderbird TurboCoupe that I recently bought. Well every once in a while the car will stumble upon acceleration. My father says its like when an accelerator pump goes out on a carburated car or truck. Any suggestions as to whats wrong? This car needs alot of TLC, and other than the real bad stumble on acceration it runs fine. but if I cant get it driveable, i'll have to scrap it. Thanks John
Throttle position sensor is probably the most common cause of off idle stumble. Unless you just want to replace it just to see it usually takes a recording DVOM or lab scope to accurately catch this glitch.
