1996 F-150
-Eddie Bauer Trim
-4x4
-4.9L 6 cylinder
-5 speed manual
-111,000 miles
Replaced within the last 2 years:
-Rear universal joints
-Front break pads
-Rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders and drums
-Front hub seals
-Serpentine belt
-Upper and lower ball joints
-Axle universal joints
-Tires and alignment
-High pressure and return lines for power steering
-Exhuast from catalytic converter back
-Radiator and hoses, coolant flush
-Front brake flex hoses and several brake lines/break fluid flush
Body looks good except for two rust spots (about 8 inches long and 2 inches tall) above each rear wheel well. Tires are in good shape, probably 15k on them. Interior is very clean with no rips in the seats or cracked dash etc. Also, it has an aftermarket stereo, speakers and exhuast (from the cat back). It has never been in an accident (according to the owner). There has been two owners.
What I came to you guys for is the mechanical part of the deal. I got a chance to drive the truck down the street but thats about it (ill drive it more once we go back to look at it again). I noticed that when I stepped on the clutch, it went down to the floor very easily. I have a 1996 F-250 5 speed Diesel so I dont know if im just use to the clutch on my truck or if the clutch really does go down too easy in the F-150. Ive never really drove any gas trucks besides this one so if you guys could give me some pointers that would be great.
If you have any other tips on what to look for on the truck or what to listen/watch for when I drive it, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!
