Frame rust & Brakes

I have a new F-150 Lariat with 1000 mi. I'm getting ready to take it in and am looking for opinions. The rails on the frame have some surface rust. Mostly small spots (size of a quarter) where the frame may have been scratched in manufacture or shipping, also on edges of leafs, and frame parts. Should I have this fixed or am I being ****?

Also, the brakes seem like they need adjusting. They go half-way to the floor before engaging. There is some noticeable pump-up if I pump the brakes.

I just recently changed my wheels and tires on my 05 F-150, and it gave me a good opportunity to see the places that had no paint and some surface rust starting. I just got a can of rust inhibitive black spray paint and hit the bare spots myself. Wanted to catch them early, plus it looks better. Just once in a while give your truck a little inspection, and a touch up with the paint and it should make a difference in the long run.

I have the same problem with my brakes. I was told that it is just that the truck is so heavy that the brakes have to work harder. I take it that is not the case?

The instant I step on my brake pedal, I feel the truck start to slow. It is so responsive I have to really fine tune my brake controller when I am pulling my camper. I'm not saying my truck stops on a dime, but I certainly don't have to depress them half (or even a quarter) way to get a response. The increase in braking response was the first thing I noticed that was different from my 2000 f150. I would have them looked at.
