The odd time when I turn the key to start my truck the starter does not engage right away and I get a clunking sound from under the hood. I am pretty sure the clunk is coming from that part mounted inside the fender on the passenger side(beside the battery). Also, and this is just recent, while driving in town and after and slowing down to turn at an intersection I applied about half throttle and the engine cut out for a second(or so it seemed) just like it's dead one second and back the next, happens very fast. Any ideas? Could these two things be related?
Guy ,
Make sure all the battery connections are clean & tight . Its entirely possible the igniton solenoid is dying . The two problems could be related , but if you havent done so in the last yr , cleaning the throtle body & Idle speed control usually help with the odd idling problems like you described .
