coil wire falling off takes out ignition module

was wondering if this was possible or was there another problem. coming home from work heard a loud pop followed shortly by another and a dead truck.got out and looked underhood to find coil wire had fallen off dizzy. put it back on and no start. check for spark from coil and none.long story short the ignition module went out .is this possible because of coil wire falling off .this is a duraspark 2 system with the blue grommet in my pickup

I guess it would be possible if it fell next to the pick-up wires that go to the module.
