steering box removal
can someone give me some directions on removing the steering box from the truck. and a torch is not an option cause i am going to rebuild it or replace it and want to save the steering chaft, pitman arm, and my frame too

To do a '48 style jack up the front end as high as you can, remove the steering wheel, Use the special puller, I tried for three days with out one, with a home made one, three complete turns of the rachet and OFF!
Loosen tube to dash,
disconnect horn,
Remove bolts-to-frame, wiggle it out from under

just for clearence, it will hit the ground before you can get enough angle to pull it thru thru floor
