Hey Guys, I am wiring up a console I just built. Looking for a place to tap on to power in the fuse panel. I am trying to find one that is not in use. Fuse #104 is a 40 amp. The owners manual says it's for the "Heated Backlite" not light but lite. Does anyone know what this is? Can you suggest a better place to tap on? I have wired the console for 30 amps but for now it won't be pulling near that many amps. Thanks for any help.
There is a fuse in the box for your use. It is labeled as Customer Access, however it only has power when the key is on. Depending on how much stuff you are going to run in your console it may be easier just to run your own line from the battery with an inline fuse. What all are you planning on running in there? And do you want power all the time?
02 Superstroker, Thanks for the info and quick reply. In the console I have and inverter, XM radio, Valentine radar detector and a 2 meter Ham radio. The inverter will get very limited use and will be off 95% of the time. I would like for the power to be on of course when driving but would also like it to be on when switched to ACC. Other than the inverter there is no real load but I have wire with #10 stranded and fused with an inline 30 amo ATO fuse. I don't remember seeing one labeled Customer Access but I'll go and look again now. Any other info is appreciated. I have no idea what "Heated Backlite" is though. Dave.
