I am looking to buy a cat back exhuast for a '03 5.4 4x4. I am looking for the best product for the best $$$$$$$$$$$$$. I do not want it to be very loud, I just want something for towing and a little more HP. Any ideas??????????????
I like Flowmaster also but a lot of people don't seem to like the noise they make inside the cab. I have heard good things about Magnaflow also and also Borla. I prefer Flowmaster though.
Ive got a Flowmaster 50 Series with 2 1/2" duals on my '99 F-150 with a 5.4L.
It has a nice rumble to it and its not at all obnoxious. You can hear it when you are accelerating but when you are cruising at a constant speed you cant really hear it inside the cab.
I got my done at a local muffler shop, it cost me about $300.
Octane
Sound like Flowmaster wins this thread hands down! So cravenc, what do you think of the flowmaster? Is it everythign you expected it would be? What do you think of the difference in power? I'm looking into an exhaust system so advise is good advise.
I say go for it............. The tone is nice @ idle. You can not even hear the exhaust @ highway speeds. I went with the duals on mine and love the look. Its really hard to notice the power differance but, it sounds alot faster.
i put the 40 series delta flow on mine 3 in 3 out all mandrel bent.i bought the muffler and tailpipe from flowmaster.it is a universal tailpipe kit . i saved about 100$ over a built catback system. took about 2 hours to put on in the garage. flowmaster rules.
Just put a Flowmaster 50 on my 2001 crew cab. 5.4 Triton engine.. Smooth...nice low rumble starting out very little noise or vibration at cruising speed $350.00 well worth it.. Anxious to see the change in performance and hopefully little more gas milage
