Does anyone make shortie headers for a 460 that will work on an early 80's f-150/350. I have hooker super comp's and the drivers side header interferes with the driveshaft I have an 81 f-150 converted to one ton straight axle with 38's I just put my 460 in and am waiting to make an exhaust because of the header problem
L&L makes them, or atleast they advertise them. I hear there is a long waiting period after you order them though. Give Jeff's Bronco Grave Yard a call, they can fill you in on the details. -Ed
No problem, that's what this site is all about, I thought. I bought a pair of these headers from Jeff's back in 1999 when I first did the 460 swap in my truck, I did not have the money to finish the exhaust at that time so, I returned them to Jeff for full refund. These headers were built very well, and carried a lifetime warranty on the workmanship and rust through. When I restored the truck in 2003 I tried to get these headers again but, they were back ordered and the factory (L&L) could not give me a ETA so, I bought a set of L&L 3/4 length chassis headers from Jeff's that he had in stock for $450.00. Yes, a bit expensive but, I think they are worth it. -Ed
I've been looking into a set of shorties for my 460. Because it is an engine swap most of my options would give my wife good reason to leave me (too expensive). I have found two sets, the famous L&L headers and it appears sanderson makes a set too. Where the L&L's are $400+, the sandersons run $289. They both have 3/8 inch flanges so I'm seriously thinking of the Sandersons. Has anyone here used the sandersons?
