I was just wondering if anyone knows the hp and torque ratings, and what rpm's they are attained for my 72' F-100. I know it has plenty of low end and does not rev high, I can only get about 65mph with my 4.11 gear in it, it's totally stock.
thanks, Ryan.
Can't help you with exact #s. Probably like 135 HP, as the 65 had 150, before they changed the rules and added polution crap.
Your rear is way too low, unless you have huge tires.
I would suggest the first step is deciding what size tires you like -- put them on. Then you decide if you still like your tranny. If you can stand the tranny (interms of shift pattern etc), then you adjust the rear to fit your high end needs. The 240, stock at least, likes to cruise at about 2500 rpm. But you may have trouble getting that in a combination that also makes sense in the low range.
