Okay this question for Pro and Ivan since they have delt with doing that and anyone elses input. Okay i have failed to find another 390 for my 76 but i can get a 460 for $300 besides needing new motor mounts and a different bellhousing to drop that 460 into my truck. Is anything i'm missing?

You will have to get the exhaust changed to work with the 460, then you have to deal with the rad hoses, but you should be able to use ones off a 2wd 460 truck, and you might have to move the tranny mount forward or back, i can't remember the lenght differences between a 390/460, but they are close, then you just have to run your fuel/vacuum lines and wiring. Its nothing to difficult but can hold the project up and be a pita.
