Guys... Mine is a 1988 F-250 with a 4.9 6 in line. Compression reads 150 in each cylinder... Transmission is great (looks new) traction the same. It doesn't have a posi lock only standard. Problem is I don't feel the power I should be getting from my truck when I give it gas from zero... it is very powerful in the long run but I can't burn any wheels at all, it doesn't pull me back on my seat (that's what I mean) Why is this?
I run 35's and have a 6 inches lift but the truck hasn't really done this before I had these changes.
any suggestions, questions?
Thanks
Your truck wasnt made to do burnout and make you fly into the seat. If you want one of those, Id suggest the new mustangs. Your also trying to spin 35 in tall tires. I have a f150 extended cab shot bed with 33's and mine dont ever spin. I even have the 5.8l v8. Its not very aerodynamic either. If you want to do burnouts with your truck, I suggest putting in lockers (just to make it look cooler) and start break torquing it.
okay, thanks for your comment... now how about changing to new headers and improving the amount of air into the manifold and installing a performance chip?
Now... I will change the 302 engine that I have into my 1970 Mustang pretty soon (for a more powerful one)... If I put that old 302 into my truck... would it be a good Idea??? (This one does smoke wheels like you have no idea)
Thanks again
