i have an 89 ford 150 xlt van. it was runing ok till yesterday. when i parked it in my neighbors drive way. i tried to start it again and it wouldn't start the key turned way over to far. come to find out the (ignition actuator) inside the column broke. it would start by manualy pushing rod down on the switch. but the gear shift was stuck in park.so i could not drive it. i had it towed home.after taking the steering wheel and blinker switch harness out i was playing with the switch and it short circuited some how. i replaced the whole steering column
from pick and pull . i installed new key and cylinder. now i have no power at the switch on the coulmn. i have 3 different switches that i have tried, and still no power there. is there an in-line fuze that i could have shorted out. if so where the heck it is. i checked all the fuzes in the box all are good.i need someone with real smarts here.. help!!!! and thanks very much

hello, all i could find in my electrical trouleshooter is: there is a fuse link "16 ga brown wire" located "in harness. RH side of dash". if you can find this link, see if it's bubbled or melted. not sure what "in harness" means but i think most links have a screw terminal. it might be screwed in somewhere. good luck.

What I was thinking too. Also known as a fusible link. (Don't know how versed you are in terms and don't want to assume)
ford book says "fuse" and haynes says "fusible". the EVTS manual is made by ford.
hey fuzz check the "link" near the starter relay too. good luck. keep us posted.
