I saw this in real life for the first time today. it is the biggest piece of crap "truck" i have ever seen. It is fwd what the hell kind of truck is front wheel drive? And the entire thing is made of some cheap crappy metal that dents in when you barely push it. Underneath it has the smallest axles Ive ever seen, take a speed bump too fast and the wheel might fall off. I would sue Honda for false advertising in its new commercial for the "truck". I dont know, i guess we'll have to see how hondas first attempt at a truck comes along, I mean the only other truck theyve made was the Isuzu Based passport, ok nevermind its not based IT IS A RODEO. Whatever I dont care, Just dont buy one.

Reason: gay comment
Oh but dont you know all the soccer moms are gonna love it. I cant even believe they can call it a truck. Fwd, unibody construction, a TRUNK, and pure ugliness. I thought it was bad enough that nissain got in the truck market, now honda. Whatever happened to buying american? Anyone know what the tow rating is? It's probably rated way high, but if you tried to take a hill with that weight it would puke its guts and die.

Gee, guys, I thought I was vocal about how big an ****-up this thing is.
Some more non-trucky things:
- It has independent rear suspension. IRS does not belong in a pickup. Period.
- The aforementioned trunk in the floor of the bed. If you need to get the spare out you have to unload all the cargo.
Didn't Honda start out building motorcycles?
Sad part is, they'll likely sell enough of them that Honda won't get discouraged and drop it. Sighhhh...
Cheers,
Eric

I actually liked the aztec, don't ask why, it's kinda funky looking, but i dunno, something about it, but the honda ridgeline, what a piece, i've seen 4 since it came out, they are the biggest piece of crap i have seen in a while. I like nissans trucks more than this. I hear mitsubishi may be looking to get back in as well, if they haven't already, kinda been falling asleep on target dates. But nothing will ever beat a ford truck IMO.

It reminds me of a humvee. Didn't the original ones have a camouflage pattern on the seat material? I think GM designers dreamed it up after Gulf War I.
The really sad thing is that not only Honda's calling it a "truck, they're calling it a "1/2 ton pickup""!
They could at least call it a compact or even maybe a mid-sized truck. I mean it only has a 5000lb tow rating. All the newer 1/2 ton crew cabs have at least an 8000lb tow rating if not more.
Sad thing is I like Honda. I have some Honda ATVs and a generator that are all quality items. I guess I was kind of hoping for a little more from them. I really don't like the "false advertising". I'm not used to seeing that kind of phony marketing crap from them.
Most of the folks who buy them will be city folks who won't tow anything with their Ridgeline and probably don't know the difference bewteen a Chevy Colorado and an F250 diesel. I think Honda is marketing it to those types of folks who want to have a tuff-guy pickup truck image but think they're too good buy a Ford or Chevy like all the lower-class common country-boys.
They buy a Honda truck and it'll make them feel smarter and better than all of us, but in truth they got a lesser truck than any other 1/2 ton on the market!! I think the same type of thing holds true to a lesser extent with the Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra.
