Would a complete fuel injected 302 with auto trans and air compressor out of a 1990 Bronco fit into a 1980 Ford Ranger with a current 302 with auto. trans and air?
Could I or would I be better off with just using the motor only and convert manifold and add gas carb??
Would the whole deal- motor and trans fit wiyhout a driveshaft hitch, or is there a way around this ???????????
Driveshaft issues?
Fuel injection computer?
vac. lines?
harnesses??
etc.
It should not be a difficult swap. Compare the lengths of your two transmissions. Measure from the tail piece where the drive shaft connects to the front of the bell housing. If they measure the same distance they will swap. If they are different lengths, you can use your old tranny and it will bolt right up to the new 302. You will definitely need the computer and computer wiring harness out of the Bronco for your FI. You can even move the vacuum hoses from your donor vehicle to keep it simple.
