TC Lockup switch

I have the 5.4L in my 2000X and the torque converter unlocks as soon as I let off the throttle. Also, while coasting down a long grade with the Cruise Control engaged, the TC alternately locks and unlocks. This ruins any engine braking, which would be nice to have on long declines. I would like to install a mechanism whereby the TC will remain locked until I tap the brake pedal, instead of when I let off the throttle. Has anyone done this? Maybe a latching relay could be installed to manually lock the TC with a switch, then unlock when the brake pedal is tapped. Any ideas?

What color is the wire that signals the TC solonoid to lock and unlock?

Many guys have added a switch that will override the computer and let you manually lock and unlock the TC with a dash mounted switch. Unfortunantly, I do not know which wire to splice in to.

I have not heard of them tapping the brake to unlock, though.

Maybe a search here will turn something up?

The '96 in my sig used to do that. It's the PCM that tells it to unlock, you can have a dealer flash it so that it wont do that. I dont know if the gassers are the same, but you can have them do it on diesels, also It might be different on the gassers, but the wire is purple with a yellow tracer on it, easiest to find right out of the tranny connector, follow it up to the engine compartment and tap into it there, you will need to ground that wire to make the T/C lock.
