Tucharged 351C 4v
What i have: a good 1972-3 4v 351 cleveand with the 4bolt bottom end.
Now i have been thinking this over for the past little while and i have decided this is what i want to build so my dad can have his motor back (long story), and i want to build as much of it as i can myself (that will be pretty much everything but the machine work, have all the right tools), what i would do is first get the 351 checked over for any impefections, then i would have the blobl bored .03 over, have the cam/crank aligned honed, camfer the crank (have it cleaned up nice and good) oil holes, etc. Then have the rods checked to make sure that they are in good shape. Then i would have the rotating assembly ballanced, if i have extra money. then i would arp the bottom end, then for pistons i would run forged pistons with a dish to get the cr to 8:1, then the heads would be cleaned up and exhaust side ported, then a nice comp cams k-kit that includes the right valve springs and the specific cam for running boost for me, then a torker intake, rebuilt holley 750dp carb (or 700), build an encloser for the carb for running boost, also tune the carb to run boost, then a high volum oil pump/fuel pump as well. and i would custom make a set of headers to work with a turbo.
For the turbo i was thinking either a single turbo from a dodge diseal, then run an adjustable wastegate so i could run boost at half, then when i want more i can open er' up to run full boost (say5-6 psi for normal, then 10-12 for more power), or i could run twin turbos of a supra/t-bird combo with a wastegate on the bigger of the two turbo's.
Now what do you think? Any input here would be great as this is something i've wanting to do for sometime and i would love to do it myself, any ideas on how to better the motor also (for little to no cost)?
BTW i will post back up tonight as i am in a rush. Thanks.
