Starting problems when cold

No matter what the outside temperature, my 1995 7.3 is tough to get going. It will start but when I get going it goes about 2 minutes and looses power and quits. Restarts cause clouds of white smoke. After about 4-5 restarts it takes off and is great for the rest of the day. Any suggestions?

Wow, this is an odd one. On the first start does it smoke? And then the smoke comes along later? Hmm, suggest going and getting a compression check and making sure that the injector o-rings are in perfect condition.

I agree w/Kwik... get the compression checked.

Kwik... would the HPOP cause these kind of symptoms?

Thanks barebackjake.... I wasn't thinking it through all the way. I was stuck on the stalling and having it quit as a fuel supply/injector problem. The smoking would indeed indicate fuel in the cylinders.
