changing oil
I just got my 1st oil change a while back on my 2004 super duty D. I just found out they messed up and put motorcraft synthetic oil in. I was wanting shell rotella. I was wondering if I change oil now to rotella if it would hurt anything I have 4000 mi. on since they changed it. which means the truck has 9000 on it. Hope someone can help me out with this. Oil Change
Won't do any harm. I switch btw synth & Dino from winter to summer sometimes. Starts better in cold temps w/ the synth. Will run a little quieter on the synth as well. Key is run a good oil & change it when your supposed to.

I hope to get an answer as well. Although, my question is of oil quanity. I have been all through my service manual and vehicle data stickers. I have also been throughout multiple forums within FTE and haven't found the answer.
I just bought a 2001 SD F250 with a 5.4 engine and want to change the oil. I can't find how many quarts I'll need to buy.

Oil Qty
The 5.4L holds 6.0 qts of 5W30. You can usually find shop manuals w/ all the specs (CD or Paper copy) on E-bay for a few bucks.
