Intake manifold replacement

Hello, I have a 79 351m400 motor that I recently replaced stock carb with a Holley 4122(2300 series) 2bbl 500cfm. Now I want to replace stock manifold with either a Holley 8010 or an Edlebrock 2171 but am not sure which one to go with. Whichever I go with it would be non-EGR and another question is would I need an adapter plate for carb. I'm getting conflicting advise and not sure which way to go. Listings for 8010 give either 2v or 4v and how do I find out which one I need. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Either way you go you will be happier. Personally, I use the Edelbrock intake.

The Weiand/Holley 8010 is a 4V manifold for 2V heads. You will need an adapter to use a 2V carb. The same is true for the Edelbrock 2171. They are both non-EGR manifolds. My choice would be the Weiand 8010, because it has a better carb mounting surface and is less prone to vacuum leaks.

You may have to retune you carb to use it with an non-egr manifold, also your distributor advance may need adjustment.
