Last weekend when scanning for codes I made a mistake some how.Need a suggestion where to start looking. The truck will turn over but won't start. I thought maybe no gas to engine but I can smell gas when tyring to start. Any help would be great from any of the moterheads here.
A side note when scanning I could start it and go through the proceedure the scan tool was dirrecting ,after getting codes unplugged the scanner and put it away and the truck wouldn't start after that. Any help would be great.
Hmmm... sounds like a wierd problem to me. Try taking of your negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes and let the computer reset. Actually I read somewhere on this website that if you take it off and then go back into the truck and turn your lights on, that this will drain the little millivolts of power that the computer chips and stuff hold. And then reconnect the terminal a few seconds later.
handymanBouncing ..Thanks for the help, something as simple as disconnecting the battery never thought of it.Fired right up after sitting for a bit disconnected. thanks again.
Sometimes its the simple little things that we look right over... It's not anyones fault. Trust me I do it all the time. I'll think the worst of a little problem, and go to bed and wake up in the middle of the night thinking of the "simple" thing that it might be, and normally I'm right. Thats what I did with your problem. I read it and couldn't think of what the problem would be, went to bed and got up in the middle of the night (whenever I posted it on here) and thought of a way to fix it. Glad I was able to help ya bud.
