Okay, I have a few probs here that i'll be getting to hopefully tomarrow. I dont have power to my heater, my horn, and who knows what else. The other thing is that I seem to have power to the neg side of the battery, even when the ignition is turned off.
If anyone has a wiring diagram, outta a book or otherwise, maybe labels for the color codes or something, I'd sure appreciate it. The rig is a 76 f100 with A/C, but I'd be more than happy to take a diagram for a similar rig. Thanks in advance!
You can find wiring diagrams several places. They vary in quality tho. The OEM service manuals on CD available at the online store includes wiring diagrams. You can also get just the wiring diagrams at the online store. Some aftermarket repair manuals have basic wiring diagrams in them.
Sounds to me like the battery is shorting within itself (Yes,this can happen)
Remove both cables to the battery
You can do a top of the battery case test.
Take Test light or multi-meter....Put the ground wire on the ground post and then touch the probe all over the top of the case to see if you have current present.
I won't ask if the battery has been installed properly because I know it hasn't.
Well, this is the second battery, I've already thought of that.

That would sound pretty good, but I gotta get that drivetrain put into it first, and i'm thinking that's how the beginning of the week is gonna go. If you dont mind scannin it in, or maybe I could borrow it or something, ah, I dunno.
