Low Idle?

Low Idle?

I've got a 97 F-150 4x4 with the 4.6L V8, and my idle is at roughly 550RPM.........is this low? If it is, what can I do to correct it? Any ideas are appreciated.

I think mine is somewhere around there at idle in gear. Out of gear i think its more around 1000. If it feels like its trying to stall out then its too low. And if this is the case, use the forum serach tool to search for "IAC" . But if not then I'd say you're good. The specs on my truck are in my signature, pretty much the same truck.
