New Gears.
While there is a thread on Speed and Gearing I thought I would share my experience with a gear swap this past weekend. only took 4 hours, and no real headaches in the swap. drove a total of 1800 miles on it in 4 days, never once had a problem, the brakes even worked. 
I drove 800 miles to denver, @ approx. 15 MPG, with the 4:10's empty. So I found a rear end with 3:55's and swapped it in, in my cousins dirt driveway. on the way home we drove 1600 miles on a HUGE out of the way visit to our buddy in Minot ND. and only got Approx 15 MPG, again. but the pyro never got below 900* because of the wind, and we had a truck box on the trailer behind us.
Empty I drove 160 miles and still have just under half a tank. So empty the mileage is awesome with the new gears, loaded it sucks, I want the 4:10's back for that. the acceleration is slower, realy slow to build boost below 2K but the top end rocks, I think I can out run anyone now, 90 mph @ only 2500 rpm, and it will rev to 3100 so that must be close to 110 MPH, can you say another ticket???
which I did get in CO.... 79 MPH, up hill, loaded. it was only $50.
So... I am happy with them, any one one where I can get a D60 with 3:55's?? or a set of 3:73's for a sterling 10.25???? I think these would be the perfect balance for my needs.
