Draglink angle and pitman arm?

What is the most angle you can run? I have a 94 HP D60 with the stock tierod and draglink how many inchs can I have between the pitman arm and tierod?
Also is the pitman arm supposed to move up as it goes to the left? or do I need to tilt the steering box so that the pitman arm moves perfectly horizontal?

It should reflect as a side to side movement. I think you start to feel more bump steer with about 1.5" to 2" of body lift. A body lift will cause a more of an angle on the tierod and draglink. A Drop Pitman Arm will create a flatter drag link, which helps reduce bump steer. Instead of tilting your steering box.

94' straight axle? RH connecting rod, sleeve, left outer tie rod run parallel with axle. Then you have a tie rod to a sleeve and tie rod at pitman arm.Not quite sure what your looking for,but you can get away with as much as a 4'' lift (suspension)without any probs. with the tie rods, but you may lose some turning radius 1 way if you try to straighten the steering wheel.A body lift won't have any affect on the steering linkage except for the column/intermediate shaft to the box. From the box/frame down, nothing is affected from raising the body. But as I asked before what exactly are you looking for/trying to do?

I converted a 76 2wd F150 to a 4wd. The steering box is out of a 92 F250HD. The front axle is out of a 1994 F350. As you can imagine the steering box needed to be custom mounted. The pitman arm is approx. 10"-12" above the tie rod.
I can't use a dropped pitman arm because it would hit the leaf spring at full left turn with the left tire stuffed up in the fender well.
With it at full right turn and the right tire at full drop The tie rod is needing to go directly through the top of the leaf spring pack.
If I could run the draglink over the leaf spring to a steering arm mounted on top of the knuckle that would be perfect. But I don't think I can make an arm strong enough for that.
Help..........me......please.

I can picture your problem, but it doesn't make sense to me.The box and axle are compatible.I'm thinking the box is mounted too high on the frame or the springs are mounted inboard too much.Which tie-rod assembly are you using, the 250 or the 350?Got any pics?

I have a crappy digital camera. I can try and get some pics.
Upon closer inspection a dropped pitman arm will clear the leaf just barely though.
I think I will get a 3" drop pitman arm and see if that helps.
Thanks for the help so far.
