distributor recurve

ok i know some of u guys have done this but i really dont know where to go with mine. im going to get the kit that has all the springs and weights but i need to know which way to go. i know i have not enogh at low rpm and way to much at higher rpm so what should i do. if any of u have a starting point that would be great

yeah i've read that but i dont know where to start what sould i put in for weights and springs anyways thanx

There is also an article on the fordmuscle.com site under the tech section. You don't change the weights in a Ford dist., only the springs. you can also get an adjustable vacuum canister as part of a kit from Crane. They tell you that if you put both of the lighter springs in you will get full advance in by about 2500 which is what I have. The total is controlled by the limiter piece as explained in the article and where you set your initial. If you think you are getting too much at the top end I would look to limit the vacuum some as it can keep pulling the breaker plate farther if there is not a stop. Why do you think you have too much up top?

well it just wont run very well at top end if u get up there much past 3000 it will fire early. and i have the vac advace as little as possible.
