CB Radio on stock antenna

I was thinking of putting another stock antenna on the drivers side of my truck for a CB. I know it's not the optimal location, but I'm just looking to talk to my buddies while wheelin'. But I was just wondering if it would even work at all. Any imput will be appreciated.

If you mean a stock AM/FM Radio antenna, then NO, it will not.

Antenna's are tuned for the band (Frequencies) they will be operating on. an antenna made for receiving broadcast radio is not tuned for transmitting on CB. You will Fry the transmitter on the CB.

a few companies used to make an adaptor that you'd put inline with the car antenna to use it for CB, but even if you can still find one of those, they didn't work very well.

My reccommendation would be to get a magnetic mount CB antenna and just throw it up on the roof or hood when you are going to use the CB.
