Well, ive been looking up info on the zf 5 speed tranny looking to do a swap into my 87 f150. yet the only thing i cant find is the length of the 4wd version of the zf tranny with the adaptor. if anyone knows how long this transmission is that would be very helpfull. thx

 

Not sure on that one. I have the M5R2. I'm getting ready to swap it out with the ZF that's a 2WD and going to convert it to 4WD version. Luckily, the place where I purchased the tranny does Drive Shaft mods with balancing if any lengthing or shortening needs to be done. I've seen on some posts that the crossmember may also have to be replaced. Another good point on my side is I have access to the donor vehicle.
