Speedometer cable
My speedo cable is broken on '63 F-100. I'm having trouble finding a replacment. Are there other Fords that would interchange? Both of my ends are good but I don't know if they fit on one of the "generic" cables.
Any suggestions?

Most cable catalogs have a picture listing in the back that shows all the cables with the same ends but diff lengths. Try asking for the catalog or catching a friendly counterperson who can thumb thru the pictures until you find one with the same ends. Sometimes you will end up buying a cable and then buying a new core that has the correct ends for your vehicle.

Suggest removing cable from housing and measure. Dennis Carpenter provides list of speedometer cables and housing by wheel base and transmission type and cable lengths. If you go to their online parts catalog should be able to locate cable. The gear is held on with cotter pin and should be interchangeable. If consider purchasing, suggest call and inquire salesperson should be able to advise.
