86 F150 headlight buzzer

There is a buzzer that comes on every time I open the drivers side door. (lights off and key out of the ignition). There is a second buzzer I hear if I leave my keys in the ignition and open the door. I would just disconnect the buzzer but I can't seem to find it. It sounds like it is inside the heater duct work; does anyone know where it is? I am trying to keep from cutting the door switch wire but if all else fails that is what I will do.I am not 100% sure that it is the light buzzer but that is my best guess. Thanks for any help.

I believe that on the 86's. The buzzer is behind the glove compartment. You will have to open it all the way. Meaning take everything out of it first so you don't dump everything on the floor and detach the cord or whatever holding so the box don't flip upside down when open. It should at the top left side of the opening where your glove box is. On my 90, it is located near the left floor heater vent. Just forward of the 4 wheel drive selector. I had to disconnect my noise box because it interfeared with my two way mobile radio mounted in my truck.

I took out the glove box, dash pad, and the radio and the noise seemed to be comming from somewhere behind or in the the black plastic duct work for the heater but I didn't have time to tear into all of that.

Thanks
Keith

I did what you wanted to do. It's Probley to late now, but if I remember correctly the buzzer is in a black bosort of). It, I think on the bottom left hand corner of the glove box. You might have to take the glove box out to do this. It has two buzzers, one for the key, and the other is for the lights. I messed with mine so only the light buzzer would only work. That should do it. The only thing is, is that it is a pain to get to, so have fun.

on the 86's the buzzer is mounted to the lip above the glove box. if you open the glovebox door and reach just to the left of the latch you will feel a box about 2 inchs wide and about 1.5 inchs tall give it a quarter turn and it will pull right out. then all you have to do is unplug the plug off of it and no more buzzer. I made this little modification 3 days ago while driving to work the darn thing went on and stayed on for no apparant reason. I pulled over and in under a minute was under way again. Hope this helps
