Excessive Engine Noise ?
I have a 1989 F-150 XLT with a 302. When the engine is idling it makes a seemingly excessive amount of racket. Its not mechanical, like a death rattle or anything, just a roar. Its louder than the Flowmaster cat-back kit I put on it, the only vehicle I've ever owned that was louder than this truck was a 91 Olds Cutlass with a Quad 4 in it. Its so loud you can't hear the radio with the window done and you have to turn the engine off at drive-throughs. I didn't know it this was normal or not, the 96 F-250 I drive at work is quiet as can be and its got a 351.
