What is the best way to level my 2005 Ford F350 when towing a bumper mount Horse trailer? I have been looking at air bags. If air bags are the best where is the best place to buy them? Should I add four or just two in the rear. How about remote control from inside?
In 1996 I installed Firestone air-ride type air bags in the rear of my '95 F-250. They have worked without problem since then.
The remote air fill option looks decent but is not really necessary unless you are doing lots of on-and-off towing. The standard system seems to hold air pressure just fine and does not need to be inflated periodically once aired up.
60 psig of air in the bags seems to work well when towing a 10K trailer with about 1400# of tongue weight. The truck sits level and the tow is stable.
Air bag installation in your '05 should be easy. You will have to drill a few holes to mount the bracket on the frame, but the job is easy to do.
I use a reese hitch - with weight distributing adjustable springs located on the hitch. Have used it for years and can adjust for different weights on the hitch if needed. this type of system spreads the weight of the hitch to all the axles on both the trailer and pickup. We have towed our 30 ft trailer with both pickups listed in signature.

Check my gallery for my load leveling devise Check the springs gallery.... Sorry could n't resist it has 16 leaves on EACH side I have yet to see a truck with that stout of a pack. I can haul 5 in the bed and it still sits level. BYT I can't drink a soda going down the road because it ends up all over me.. OH well I built it to pull not cruise.
