I've started to notice that about 3 seconds after I start the engine (and it's been off overnight or all day) I hear a loud "thunk." I heard it this past winter and thought it could have been if I was using 4wd and switched it out just before I parked. But, it's still happening. You can almost feel it. Any ideas?
I'd say A/C compressor engagement is a maybe but more info is needed regarding where the selector switch is set when starting and what you are driving.
I think that's it! If I leave the climate control off, it hasn't happened again yet. I guess the A/C compressor just sounds much louder from outside than I thought.
