Mileage vs Chip/Computer
Hi,
I have a 2002 5.4L Gas Rig (I know I should have got a diesel)
Hey, anyway I get 16 MPG some to most of the time, but I would like to get more!
What are you getting for mileage?
What is a good, I can’t afford the best one, computer chip that will pass smog for California?
I have 26K miles on this Super X, and don’t want to screw up the extended warranty.
Where can I get the chip or computer in Northern California, and how much do they cost? What kind of mileage would I get after doing the chip/computer?

After I installed my Predator tuning, I got outrageous mpg. But since several 15 gallon fillups to top up and check the real world mpg, I realized it wasn't so. That's why it's call the lie-o-meter. Was just a tad better than stock. But funny thing now, my lie-o-meter is learning the correct mpg readings from the fuel gauge readings and it doesn't register that high anymore. I have a 7.3 diesel and getting about 15 mpg mixed driving. So you're doing pretty well.
When you get your chip or tuner, just take the chip out or put the stock tuning back before you go for your smog test. It's 5 years for your first smog test so you got a ways to go yet.
