Hey yal, well it is time to stick some gauges in my 04 psd. I saw that summit had a kit for a little over $300. Has anyone installed these? I believe it is boost, pyro, and tranny temp. Any of them hard or impossible? Any pointers?
damn, nobody has wired up their own gauges? I was thinking of getting a two pod a pillar and a boost and pyro gauge. Would a 30, 35, or 60 be the best? How much boost do these things run stock and after they are chipped? Is it hard to mount the pyrometer sensors?
The Gauge Installation Is Fairly Simple. For The Pyro U Drill And Tap The Left Side Exhaust Manifold. Some Drill From The Bottom Up, I Personally Took Mine Off And Drilled And Tapped It On The Top Side.
I Used THE Spa Dual Gauge, And TO MOUNTThe Boost Sensor I Removed The Intake Elbow And Drilled And Tapped It, Some Boost Gauge I Believe Tap Into The Map Sensor Line On The Passenger Side Of The Engine Compartment. A Black Line From A Fitting On The Intake Manifold Runs To The Map Sensor. If You Do A Search On "gauges". Im Sure You Will Find Much Helpful Information. Good Luck..........Mark
I have an ex monitor for my 04, and I had someone drill and tap my manifold for me (I didn’t have access to a tap) and did the rest myself. I ran both the boost line and pyrometer in threw the rubber seal below the master cylinder, and mounted black box next to the fuse box. I used a “pigtail” fuse connector off the delayed accessory fuse to power it. The boost line just taped into the MAP sensor. I did not hook up the trans temp yet, but all you have to do is tap into a senor wire. Taking my time, it only took a little over an hour or work to do.

I just did my install and it’s pretty simple and nothing you shouldn’t be able to do yourself. I used a combination of online instructions (http://www.dieselmanor.com/diy/PSD3-...D3gauge-p1.htm and http://www.itpdiesel.com/Documentation.shtm ). I purchased the 3 gauge a-pillar setup from MotorHaven and its AWESOME!!! I see you’re in the Great State of Texas, so if you happen to live around the Houston area and decide to do it yourself, I’d be more than happy to give ya a hand.
I live in Abilene but thanks for the offer. I would order Motorhaven but I don't like what their gauges look like. I perfer autometers, I wish they would sell those. Anyhow, I'm just going to get the dual pillar, pyro and boost. Edited out I will take a shot at it.
