Keyless Entry Keypad
I bought a keyless entry keypad off of ford accessories website.
The instructions seem simple enough... turn ignition ON/OFF 8 Times, etc...
to put truck in programming mode. Once it's in programming mode, you can put in your factory code.
The problem is that the truck never goes into programming mode. It's supposed to lock the doors to tell you that it's in that mode. I've tried with doors open/closed. Slow/fast. Everything I can think of and it still will not work.
Please help.
I have a 2000 F-150 7700.
Cheers,
JT

Does your truck already have remote keyless entry key fobs?
If not then the keypad won't work.
Essentially the keypad you got is another keyfob that has the number buttons on it.
Remote starter.
What was said before is right. You will need to have the full remote keyless entry with the little remotes before the keypad will work. You can buy those modules to add on. Thats what putting your truck in programming mode does...allows you to program another "keyless" device to activate the module.
The trucks coming out of factory with the keypad already on it work b/c they have a module that is already mounted on the truck.
If you buy a truck that doesn't have this module mounted, you need to do so before the keyless keypad can reference this module in order to work.
Is this right?
Next question is this:
I have a command start but haven't installed it yet. Will the keypad I bought from Ford work with any remote command start?
In other words, can the remote module be of any make/model to work with the Ford keypad.
I appreciate your guyz' help up to this point.
JT
