F-150 problem

Okay here it is...I got a '99 F-150 4x4 that has a squeak noise coming from the rear (assuming the brake) sometimes it doesnt happen until you maybe drive about 10 miles or so, but when you brake it tends to get louder then quieter as you take off, sounds kind of like the brake may be dragging, any thoughts would be appreciated.

You need to inspect the brakes pads and see if the ware tab is rubbing on the rotors. If it is replace the pads.

My thoughts also. The wear sensor is only a small metel tang attached to the back of the pad. It is bent toward the front of the pad and rotor. It is supposed to contact the rotor before the brake pads are history. It is ususally sqealing when the brakes are applied and quite when the brakes are released. Some pads have them others do not. Check for the sensorand pad wear. Sometimes the sensor is positioned improperly (bent) and sqeal pematurtely.

You may want to check the parking brake too. It is a drum brake inside of the rear rotor.
