tranny fluid leak
Has anyone had a leak of trans. fluid at the dip stick where it inserts into the transmission?? I cleaned the oil off with engine cleaner and found the oil coming from that area. If you had this problem, how did you fix it?? I hate leaks of anykind. Thanks in advance Jeff

An afterthought to your reply about cracked dipstick at the transmission. I installed the 4 inch exhaust an remember having a rough time with downpipe install around that area and believe it is cracked. What would you suggest to fix it?? Drain trans and reweld, seems like an awfull lot of work to repair a nuisance of a leak. Any ideas would be appreciated? Thanks Jeff

It is a very thin area to weld properly.
Quite often a transmission shop will have a replacement tube just for this.
It is a tube about 4" long. You cut yours off and stuff it inside the new portion.
Works good too.
