My 92 F150 4x4 generates a "clicking" noise when going down the road. When I apply the brakes, it temporarily vanishes.I already replaced all the u-joints and made sure the wheelbearings were good. anyone have this problem?
check to see if your brake pads have the anti rattle clips in place.
also check that the caliper is not moving excessively in the mounting bracket. the pins may be too loose, allowing the unit to rattle.

Thanks, yo are the third person to come with that. I did have the brakes done at the dealer so I will go there today and have them check that.
Turning the wheels back and forth on jackstands does produce the same noise and the pads are visible moving.
