Tranny Question

How exactly do I ID a tranny? When I ordered my headers I ordered them for a E40D Tranny thinking thats what I had since my door had a E by transmission. Ended up not fitting. Is the C6 the only other tranny used in these years? Looking for a shift kit so I need to find out. The sites I saw never mentioned anything about a OD c6? Is there a tranny that im not seeing?

You could do a world of good by telling us what year you have.
Engine size.
Model of vehicle.
You know. That kind of stuff.
