I have an 81 F-150, 4x4, 300 6 Cyl. Yesterday on the way home the engine stalled. I tried to start the engine again with no luck. I have a brand new battery full of juce, I hear the starter trying to start the engine. I don't have any spark. I have a power on the tach end of the ignition coil, but no spark from the ignition coil itself. I changed the ignition coil but I still don't see any spark. What's next? And another question: How to check if I have enough fuel in the carburetor to ignite it and start the engine?
irontruck:
To check for fuel in the carb you can take off your air cleaner lid and look down the carb body and work the linkage, if there is gas you should see gas shoot down the opening below the choke plate, watch out for your eyes!
As for the spark problem, test your coil wire to make sure its good, if it is then it might be you spark box normaly mounted on the iner fender drivers side or the dist trigger mounted in the distribitor. look for bad conections in the system too. I'm sure others will chime in on this problem too.
I checked for bad connections, I think they are ok. I am not sure did I check the ignition coil correctly or not. I just plugged one of spark plugs in the coil wire that goes to the distributor cap. I don't see any spark and it's a brand new ignition coil. Is it correct way to test the ignition coil? I have a plain Duraspark II ignition system on my truck. Next step I probably need to test the ignition module. How to test it?

Take the module to advanced or such...they normally have a machine to test it. If it is bad (rare) then go find yourself an original Ford version DS2 box.
the same place you take it to test it. but i doubt it's the module. you can check the coil, but you'll need a multimeter to do it. sounds like you're not really sure if you have spark or not. pull a plug with wire attached, ground it to the block and have a buddy crank it. that'll clear it up once and for all. sometimes the pickup inside the distributor goes bad and has to replaced. but that's a longshot too.
