please help me trans problems????
1st question. Did you just buy this truck, or have you had it for a while & these problems are just starting to show up. I had an f150 4x4 with an I6 engine, 4 speed manual trans (with o/d as 4th gear) that I had bought back in 86'. It was a good running truck but when in a head wind you could not use 4th (o/d). The same would be with a heavy load. The clutch would also be tough to deal with towards the end of the clutch life. Tough shifting, grinding, etc. At one point I would get approx 1-1/2 years out of a clutch. Thats all. The vibration and hard shift definetly sounds like a clutch related problem although this peticular truck of mine was a tempermental shifter from day one. You may want to look into a larger clutch if your flywheel has the bolt pattern to accept it. One more thing, go with a ford clutch. I used after market one time. That was the last time. The actual clutch wear surface was larger on the ford clutch than on a reputable auto parts dealers version. Good luck.

When the wind is just right, you can just listen to those Chevys rust..............Just listen.
