I have a 1984 Bronco Fullsize, Which I Finally got the transmission in and exhaust installed...
My question is this:
I installed a late model Starter (From a 1986 F250 w/460) Will this Starter have enough Torque
to turn over the Engine which has a 9.7:1
compression ratio?
If not will I have to go back to the GM-Style starter that originally came on the 1969 429 ??
Please Advise!

Ok, I guess more specifically, The Starter for the 1969 429 was a GM-Type with the solenoid attached, and the one for the 86 F250 was like the regular Ford type (solenoid on the firewall)
So do these 2 different starters have the same Torque?

Can't say for sure, but, my 460 with 9.5-1 has been starting fine with the original '79 starter, cold or hot. This one has 250K on it and was used hard on the 351M(400). I did get a "heavy duty" relay for on the fender and have 1/0 welding cables for the battery cables(battery in the bed), 2 gauge to the starter, will upgrade to the powermaster I have, but haven't put on yet(same concern as yours!). Motor is still "tight" with 1700 miles or so on it. Next oil change it will be put on and I will keep the stocker for my spare.
